World renowned and publicly listed Publishers has immediate requirement for an individual with strong financial accounting & external reporting skills.
Financial accounting & External reporting:
Review of technical accounting developments under IFRS (and UK GAAP) ensuring new developments are communicated to the Group and Embedded into management and statutory reporting as necessary
Develop the accounting process for business combinations and prepare accounting papers for each business combination (and disposal).
Prepare and deliver the impairment tests on Goodwill and Intangible Assets in line with IAS 36 requirements
Develop and prepare the IAS 39 workings, with an emphasis on reporting and understanding the treasury accounting at Group level, and prepare the IFRS 7 disclosures
Responsible for share related accounting
Preparation and effective control of the production of Annual Report and Financial Statements and the Half Yearly report
Project management of the UK statutory accounts process, including preparation of all UK head office company statutory accounts
Candidates Need:
Graduate with a good academic background and a recognised accountancy qualification
At least 1-2 years PQE (will consider however those straight from practice)
Exposure to UK PLC reporting, including good knowledge of IFRS
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong influencing skills, including the ability to communicate complex financial technical matters to non-technical people
