Holden Jones is exclusively recruiting a new position for a Financial Controller for a logistics business that has grown rapidly over the last 5 years and is looking to move to the next stage of its development. The role will report directly to the Managing Director, overseeing a small team covering the daily, weekly and monthly accounting routines. Your responsibilities will cover a broad range from the monthly management reporting cycle including all reconciliations, VAT reports and production of detailed management accounts; year end preparation and audit; and commercial support that will facilitate growth including commercial analysis, evaluation of potential acquisitions and new business development. The initial period will reviewing how the key processes operate within the business, and identification of opportunities for improvements, which will include visiting other sites. The successful applicant is likely to be ICAEW qualified with well maintained technical knowledge and ideally have exposure to the logistics industry in terms of overseeing an accounts function.
