Our client specialises in Mobile Paint, Service and Wash down solutions to the Military and Defence sector outside the UK. They operate a total of 5 mobile self contained facilities, which can be operational within 7 days of site arrival anywhere in the world, and removed within 4 days of instruction, depending on configuration.
Each facility is totally self sufficient and has power generation, air filtration, climate control and in built operative breathing and safety equipment, and can be configured to provide, Preparation, Shot Blasting, Painting, Service and Recycled Water Vehicle Wash Down. The Washdown capability can be configured for water re-cycle, waste to holding tank or spray to waste depending on requirements.
They have just won a major contract with the US DOD based in Kuwait and urgently require a number of Heavy Equipment Mechanics.
The successful candidates will work directly under the direct supervision of the Lead Heavy Equipment Mechanic and will perform journeyman level DS/GS service, repairs and overhauls on combat vehicle equipment and heavy construction equipment.
You will perform the full range of overhaul, repair and service of combat track vehicles, material handling equipment and heavy construction equipment at the Intermediate Direct Support (IDS) and Intermediate General Support (IGS) levels of maintenance.
You will maintain current on state of the art principals, practices and procedures to be employed, quantity and quality of work expected and tools and materials to be used.
You will ensure work is complete and conforms to standards and requirements IAW technical manuals and local SOPs.
You will ensure that equipment and supplies are utilized properly.
Finally you will perform initial, inline and final inspections on jobs.

Knowledge and Skills:
You should be an accomplished heavy equipment mechanic with excellent knowledge of track combat vehicles.
You career should have included training in equipment maintenance and management procedures at DS / GS level or equivalent.
You should possess excellent oral and written skills in English and be able to adapt to rapid changes in a positive manner, work to tight deadlines and pay attention to detail.
Superb inter-personal skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.
Finally you should be PC / IT literate.ie. Working knowledge of Outlook, Word and Excel.
In terms of security clearance, you must have the ability to acquire and maintain a Common Access Card. Therefore candidates with criminal convictions cannot be considered.
Contracts are for 4 months or 6 months duration with the prospect of an extension.
The hours of work are 48 hours per week - 6 days a week. The place of work is a US Military Camp which is about 30 minutes from where you will live. You will receive free apartment style accommodation with maid service and a bus will be provided to transport you to and from your apartment to the military camp. A meals allowance is payable. Medical insurance is provided as is emergency medical repatriation to your home base.
Mobilization and de- Mobilization flights are paid for by the client.
The basic salary will be paid in USD per day, Tax Free. At the end of the contract there is an end of contract bonus payable of 41 USD per day worked.
