OPERATIONS MANAGER - ATTRACTIVE SALARY & BENEFITS

We are now entering our next expansion phase, whilst seeking to ensure that best practice, delivery and efficiency remain key drivers - as a result of this we are now looking to recruit for an Operations Manager.
THE ROLE - Operations Manager - Reporting to the Head of Operations. This is a senior operational leadership role that carries delegated authority and accountability for the operational management and performance of a designated group of strategic business units. The role is instrumental in ensuring quality and driving commerciality to ensure that the Company achieves its commercial and business development goals whilst building relationships with key stakeholders and providing excellent service.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* To be the "Responsible Individual" for all designated strategic business units, and to ensure that any visits required by legislation are carried out and recorded.
* To take responsibility for ensuring efficient and effective management of all designated business units.
* To contribute to the strategic direction of the organisation through implementing organisational strategy.
* Promote a strong caring ethos based on our Philosophy of Care, striving to achieve the highest standard of person centred planning and personalised support.
* Ensure that staff are aware of their legal and statutory obligations and take responsibility for ensuring that these are requirements are monitored and met.
* Ensure compliance with accepted standards throughout the service by monitoring and auditing outcomes.
* Work in partnership with regulatory and legislative bodies, maintaining positive, open and productive communication.
* Ensure a timely response to any Inspection reports and that appropriate action plans are drawn up, adhered to and evaluated.
* Ensure that all complaints received within the region are managed in accordance with the organisations complaints policy and procedure.
* Seek opportunities to improve the financial performance of our organisation.
* Maintain and execute a profit improvement plan that includes revenue raising and cost efficiency initiatives, and apply resources as appropriate to under-performing priority business areas.
* Regularly monitor and constantly review agreed organisational key performance indicators, such as bed utilisation, fee rates, staff hours/cost etc.
* Authorise and monitor capital expenditure for all designated strategic business units, on a suitably prioritised basis, within the agreed capital budget. Work with other management functions to develop business cases for capital expenditure in excess of budget limits.
* Ensure that new company acquisitions are integrated effectively and efficiently and that their financial performance post acquisition is managed in line with expectations.
* Develop and maintain external network relationships with customers and other influential organisations.
* Personally promote the organisation at meetings and on visits and foster effective relationships with key personnel.
* Maintain an awareness of developments in the market that may present business opportunities for the organisation.
* Identify and pursue business development opportunities, working with the Operations Director/Referrals Manager, to deliver tender presentations, and undertake commissioning and contract negotiations as required.
PERSON SPEC - higher weighting more important
* 10 - Proven track record in successfully managing a group of homes either regionally or nationally in the social care sector
* 10 - Can demonstrate measurable successes in current/previous roles - CQC ratings, occupancy levels etc
* 10 - Excellent experience within the Learning Disability/Complex Needs field - an appropriate professional qualification would be advantageous e.g. RNLD/RGN, NVQ 4, RMA, SW Degree
* 10 - Excellent communication and networking skills - pro-active, responsive, over-deliver - and a role model for team
* 10 - Strong marketing skills
* 10 - Good leader (vision, values, standards, ethos), manager ( systems, processes, routines) and coach ( delegate, exception manage, support)
* 10 - Professional, presence, impact - with visibly high integrity.
* 10 - Happy with extensive travel throughout your designated region
* 9 - Familiarity of working with budgets/business planning
* 9 - Committed to continued professional development
