Technical Director - Cabling / Cables Industry - Milton Keynes - Circa £80,000 base, car, bonus, benefits
The client is the UK subsidiary of an international business which produces all forms of cables including power, high voltage, telecoms, datacoms, infrastructure and specialist cables. The UK subsidiary supplies cables manufactured in group owned plants abroad to customers in the UK. A Technical Manager is now needed to ensure products are developed and delivered to the changing UK market effectively. Candidates will have a good hands-on understanding of the Cable Industry and cross functional experience dealing with Quality, Product Development, Procurement, Manufacturing, etc.
Core responsibilities:
? Manage the development/introduction of new products working with factories and UK commercial functions
? Draft specifications based on customer requirements for factories to work to
? Provide support for all quality and technical issues as required for the UK business.
? Represent UK interests externally (trade associations and working committees such as BS , BCA etc)
? Draft and develop technical communication materials in conjunction with UK and manufacturing functions
? Prepare justifications and timescales for new product developments
? Assemble and manage a technical library relevant to UK business
? Deal with customers on technical issues.
? To assess suitability and monitor conformance of sub suppliers
? To work with factories and customers to solve any quality and technical issues in a timely and satisfactory manner
