A large RSL based in South West London are seeking to appoint a Floating Scheme Officer to provide a floating support service across several elderly schemes within the M25. The successful candidate will provide the full range of Scheme management duties in the absence of the Scheme Manager during holidays, sickness, vacant posts or for any other reason – cover will vary from one day to a month but will be continuous for at least three months.
Duties will include daily checks of tenants which will involve making regular file notes for every resident in the scheme as well as providing general counselling, advice and support to tenants of the scheme aimed at promoting the individual’s independence including support planning. Furthermore, you will be responsible for managing the scheme premises to ensure they are properly maintained as a safe living and working environment including conducting health and safety surveys, inspections, supervision of contractors as well as fire tests and internal alarm system checks.
The successful candidate will have previous experience within a sheltered scheme as well as experience within a floating support role, although this does not need to be working with elderly clients. You will also have excellent literacy and numeracy skills as well as a flexible approach to travel across London. An enhanced CRB disclosure issued within the last year is a requirement for this position as well as a full driving license and use of a car. Mileage will be reimbursed in accordance with the organisation’s arrangements.
