9579/534/SJ Customer Support Engineer - Midlands £25,000 - 33,000 + Company Car + Pension The Company My client is a world leader in scientific analytical machinery selling to clients in academia and manufacturing. They have a strong UK service team of over 20 engineers and service hundreds of machines in the field. An opportunity has now been created in the service team for someone to cover the Midlands region. The Role You will begin by shadowing engineers in the field and learning about the simpler product range before moving onto the more complex machinery. Once up to speed you will on average spend two days a week doing PPM activities and your other days responding to customer breakdown enquiries. There will be a lot of electronic faults as well as some mechanical issues with pumps, oil changes and cooling systems. You will be dealing with academic professionals and senior engineering staff as a customer base. The Candidate The client ideally needs someone with prior service experience on analytical machinery. You should be qualified to HNC Level, ideally in electronics and enjoy meeting customers. Any background in Chemistry would be beneficial but is not essential and you should also be practically minded and not afraid to deal with some hands on mechanical issues.
