Senior Buyer
Livingston, West Lothian
£25,000 – £26,000 Plus contributory Pension, 25 Days’ Holiday (plus statutory holidays)
As a leading electronics manufacturer, our client provides complete product manufacturing, logistics and repair services to their customers. An opportunity has now arisen for a Senior Buyer to join their team.
This role would suit an experienced buyer with a good level of commercial awareness, an organised way of working and the ability to identify cost-savings.
As the Senior Buyer you will be responsible for all purchasing duties, with a focus on ensuring material is received and issued to kits to optimise production flow.
Adhering to current purchasing policy at all times, you will be required to maintain commercial awareness to ensure best costs for the company. You will also process purchase orders using the e-facs stock control software, ensuring that orders are loaded accurately and standard costs and all other relevant data are kept up to date.
Your duties will include:
- implementing procurement strategy and policies
- creating and implementing KPIs
- building and developing relationships with key suppliers and customers
- preparing purchase requisitions, and approving and issuing purchase orders
- tracking purchasing activity and measurements
To be considered for this position, you must be an experienced buyer with proficiency using MRP systems. You will also need to demonstrate excellent contract management, tendering and negotiation skills, and knowledge or experience of quotation processes.
Additionally, as the Senior Buyer you should be an effective communicator with good MS Office skills. An MCIPS qualification (or similar) would be beneficial to your application, as would experience of managing a purchasing team and/or using e-facs software.
