DAY SERVICES COORDINATOR - WELLINGBOROUGH - ATTRACTIVE SALARY & BENEFITS
CLIENT - client is a well established national service provider for adults with learning disabilities. They are a progressive organisation with fantastic growth plans for the future. This specific service is a day centre.
THE ROLE - Day Services Coordinator - Reporting to Regional Manager - We are looking for someone who can support someone in a way which does more than simply meet their needs.
We are looking for a creative individual who, as part of an exceptional team, can develop 'person centred' support which will enable people to access new opportunities, gain new experiences and have greater control of their life, and to maximise their potential, physically, intellectually, emotionally and socially.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* To formulate an activity profile for each individual service user, through liaison with all stakeholders
* To maintain accurate and legible records/evidence in respect of service users' activities.
* Ensure the safety of the service users at all times, reporting promptly any concerns about the health and safety or well being of service users.
* To carry out all duties in a safe manner having regard to the Health, Safety & welfare of self, colleagues, service users and visitors to the Home.
* To ensure the safe and proper use of all equipment.
* To assess all prospective community outings in terms of risk
* To research all prospective community outings in respect of access and toileting facilities.
* To be aware of correct manual handling techniques for each service user.
* To liaise with Support Workers in respect of relative medical or nursing care information regarding service users.
* To ensure the safe and proper use of all equipment.
* Write and keep updated the service users Care Plans, individual programmes and timetable of activities.
* Follow consistently all agreed support Plans, Risk Assessments and individual service user guidelines, reporting any progress or problems with these.
* When necessary, work 'hands on' as part of the support team, to deliver both centre based & community activities
* Support local college and other initiatives to deliver educational & employment activities
* Improve the quality of life of the service users by ensuring satisfaction of his/her needs.
* Enable the service users to keep moving towards agreed goals.
* To establish and maintain regular service user meetings.
* Lead and manage shifts, organise and prioritise administration tasks, recording of support files, health and safety recording and all other appropriate records.
* Recruit & induct new staff and record evidence of this, supervise support workers and attend senior meetings with the management team.
* Research & update own knowledge with regard to LD Agenda & local government strategies
* Liaise with local commissioners and keep funding authorities informed of relevant key performance indicators.
* To carry out other duties as well and from time to time, as directed.
PERSON SPEC - higher weighting more important
* 10 -Solid experience within a Community Support Work environment preferably gained whilst in a managerial role
* 10 - Excellent Learning Disability and/or Autism experience
* 10 - Good leader (vision, values, standards, ethos), manager ( systems, processes, routines) and coach ( delegate, exception manage, support)
* 10 -Relevant professional care qualifications such as NVQ3 Care/NVQ 4 Management
* 10 - Must have driving licence - travel to different locations is an essential part of the role
* 9 - Commitment to flexible shift patterns
* 9 - Excellent written and oral communication skills.
* 9 - Well-organised self-starter, who can multi-task in a demanding environment
* 9 - To be assertive and confident
* 9 -To be person-centred
* 9 - Good knowledge and understanding of all current H&S regulations
* 8 -Good interpersonal skills
