POSITION: Industrial Physicist

SALARY AND BENEFITS:
- £40,000 - £45,000
The main job purpose is the management of the application of Physics, this will include infrared, optical, thermal and fluid dynamics technologies, into the development projects within the Design Engineering Department
JOB OVERVIEW
-Manage complex projects as assigned by Technical Director. This involves all stages of the project from initiation through to completion.
-Produce regular written reports on project status, time allocation and other departmental issues.
- As well as formal qualification candidates must have worked in a similar role
-Deliver new products and applications against a schedule and specification
-Produce and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including design notes, calculations and analyses, circuit schematics, test data, reviews and meetings
- Management of a small team of engineers / physicists
DESIREABLE
-Preferred qualification is a Physics degree or relevant engineering qualification
-Knowledge of infrared detection technology required for the role
-Knowledge of metrology would be advantageous
ROLE INFORMATION IN DETAIL:
- To be the design authority and provide support for products as assigned by the Technical Director
- Occasional travel, including overseas, typically to visit suppliers, trade shows and industrial sites
- Provision of technical support to other areas of the business and to customers
- Need to be a creative problem solver as this person will be involved in the design and development of new products from idea through to project completion
