Our Client is the Aviation Division of this expanding Group and provides vital services in supply air logistics to remote sites in post conflict locations and remote areas.
They are currently seeking a General Manager - CJTF (Combined Joint Task Force) for their outbound operations based in Afghanistan.
Reporting into the Country Manager - Afghanistan, the successful candidate will act
as the principal point of contact for the CJTF Contracting Officer in order to oversee efficient support to CJTF outbound Operations in Afghanistan.
You will manage Ramp Managers and other personnel working in Mail and Ammo operations throughout Afghanistan.
You will supervise rotary wing Day/VFR flight operations and will co-ordinate with Military Movement Control units to ensure timely aircraft loading and unloading.
You will develop and implement safety procedures and controls and will rapidly react to shifting priorities while maintaining control over critical requirements.
You will ensure compliance with ICAO, US MIL, NATO, UN and host nation CAA directives.
You will assist the Country Manager - Afghanistan in adhering to Mail and Ammo contractual obligations while minimizing operational costs, both for the Customer and our client.
You will assist the Country Manager - Afghanistan in developing based financial factors to safeguard against raising fuel prices, crew availability, aircraft modernization costs and even future ICAO, US MIL, NATO, UN, and host nation CAA directives.
You will manage employee issues and, when necessary, liaise with the Human Resources Department.
Knowledge and Skills:
You will need to be an accomplished aviation professional likely to be Ex- military and ideally with some leadership experience gained in Iraq or Afghanistan.
Able to interface with senior US Military and NATO Officers and provide unique solutions to contractual issues or concerns you will have detailed knowledge of cargo aircraft, an ability to recommend and / or source the right aircraft for the right mission based on gross weight, type and density of cargo and fuel burn.
You will have established contacts with actual aircraft providers and proven experience in monitoring separate aviation operations while ensuring safety and financial standards are met.
Proven ability to exercise centralized command and decentralized control; affective record of delegating authority while maintaining accountability/responsibility
Ideally you will have experience with ACMI wet and dry lease operation and development and possess knowledge of FAA / ICAO / IATA regulations.
You should possess excellent communication skills in English and ideally able to speak some Farsi or Russian, able to adapt to rapid changes in a positive manner and work to tight deadlines.
Superb communication skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.
You will be resourceful with a flexible outlook, have the ability to multi-task in order to handle competing priorities and be able to fit in to an international dynamic and multi-cultural environment.
The basic salary is paid in US Dollars and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. In addition there is an annual bonus payable after 12 month's service which is also paid in US Dollars and tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. Accommodation, laundry, local transport, medical / health insurance, permanent disability and death benefit, bereavement leave and meals are all provided free. In addition you will have the use of a phone to call family and friends and also use of the internet for e-mails etc.
Ex-Patriate employees will receive 63 days annual leave per year and the working rota is approximately 14 weeks on, 3.5 weeks off.
In addition Ex-Patriate employees will receive 3 paid return economy flights per year.
