Senior Buyer
Basildon
£12 - £14 per hour
Due to promotion within the company, my client based in Basildon, Essex, is currently looking to recruit a new Senior Buyer to join their purchasing team. This is a temporary position initially, but there is a possibility that it may lead to a permanent role with the company. Working alongside a Buyer and reporting into the Purchasing Manager you will be expected to provide assistance to the Purchasing Manager with regards to running the department as well as being involved in day to day buying.
My client is within the manufacturing/engineering industry and is looking for someone from a similar background who is used to buying in line with production schedules and working on varied projects. You will be expected to source parts from suppliers across the world in order to get the best possible value for money and my client is looking for someone who has previous experience of this, rather than just working from a fixed supplier list. You will be expected to negotiate the best price and to form long term relationships with suppliers.
My client is looking for someone with at least 2 years experience in purchasing/procurement/buying, ideally within the right industry and someone who can work on their own initiative and do what’s needed to get the job done.
