THE COMPANY AND SITUATION:
A leading international provider of critical support services for public authorities and corporate organisations requires a well-rounded I.T. Project/Programme Manager from a Business Analysis background for company-wide design, enhancement and implementation of I.T. systems.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
The essential experience required for this role is as follows:
At least 10 years post-graduate commercial experience in I.T.
At least 2 years experience in managing multiple I.T. projects/programmes
Former Business Analyst we are seeking someone whose career has progressed up through Business Analysis to Project/Programme Management as opposed to someone from a predominantly technical background.
Understanding of I.T. Architecture, to the extent that you can translate business requirements to the technical team (but not a former technical architect)
Commercially astute
Experience of managing diverse stakeholders, such as Operations Directors, Business Development, Bid Directors, Bid Managers, Contract Managers & Commercial Directors
Experience of the Prince2 methodology

Desirable, but not essential, are any of the following:
Highly attractive is previous Consultancy experience: Experience of Consulting to external clients from a service provider
ITIL
A degree
Previous budgetary responsibility
Previous experience in I.T. in a Facilities Management company
THE ROLE:
This is a wide-ranging role ranging across the business from bid activity to stakeholder engagement and operations. Therefore, a very well-rounded individual is required. Soft skills are as important as commercial experience as you will be required to build relationships with both management across the firm and 3rd party suppliers. The companys core business is the supply of Facilities Management (FM) services to the public sector. This role is essentially the management of the design, enhancement and implementation of IT systems to meet agreed business requirements, whether for external client-driven issues such as bids and mobilisations, or internal business improvement projects.
THE OPPORTUNITY:
The next step for the successful applicant career-wise would be Head of I.T. This is a genuine prospect as you would be reporting directly to the existing Head of I.T. and would be very much his number two. As for longer-term prospects, this part of the group is currently proactively developing its I.T. staff and aims to double in size over the next three years, so the opportunity here is considerable.
